The “Shining Night with Lisa Vroman” concert finale (April 16) was a selection of four songs from A VISION, a musical by Tom Megan that is currently working its way toward a formal premiere. Patrick O’Neil, Lisa Vroman’s husband, scored the songs for choir, which meant that Tuesday was the world premiere of those four songs in a choral setting, and the composer, Both Tom Megan and Patrick O’Neill were in the audience to hear this unique performance of their work.

Afterwards, Tom let us know how he felt about the concert:
“It was such a joy and honor to have a suite of songs from my Yeats’ musical performed by Lisa Vroman and The Choral Project last night. What an exquisite concert it was! Daniel Hughes conducts with superb sensitivity and the musicians sang and played beautifully under his leadership. I was impressed and moved by the entire evening. There are few performers who can capture the essence of a song as Lisa Vroman does. She is a national treasure! A great many thanks to The Choral Project for their commitment to bringing new work to life and for their ongoing tradition of excellence.”
