Every year, ourĀ Rachel Moore Composition Contest for high school students (grades 9-12) and undergraduate college students encourages the creation of original works for choir and enables new collaborations between performers and composers. It also offers prizes and recognition for three winners.

This year, out of 30 entries, our prize winners are:

  • First Place (tie)
    “The Beauty of Cosmic Things” 
    by Ethan R. Gonzalez Soledad, Miramar, FL, and

    “When I Rise Up” 
    by Benjamin S. Markin, Seattle, WA
  • Second Place
    no prize awarded
  • Third Place
    “Daybreak” 
    by Luke J. Gion, White Bear, MN

Both of the first place compositions will be performed during our upcoming EARTHSONGS :: New Days concerts.
