Earthsongs :: Santa Clara

This concert program explores myth & mysticism, legend & lore, and love & light. The diverse selection of repertoire includes Ola Gjeilo’s Renaissance-inspired Unicornis Captivatur, Charles Villier Stanford’s sublime setting of The Blue Bird, and Morten Lauridsen’s beloved Sure on This Shining Night. Other gems include A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square (made popular by The Manhattan Transfer), Artistic Director Daniel Hughes’ arrangement of Stephen Sondheim’s beautiful ballad Send in the Clowns, and a fully choreographed rendition of Harry Belafonte’s thrilling anthem of life Turn the World Around.
