The Choral Project’s CHORAL MENTORSHIP PROGRAM offers high school students the unique opportunity to sing with our experienced chorus members, receiving mentoring, musical training, and an invaluable performance opportunity – to perform in concert with THE CHORAL PROJECT and the internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble, THE KING’S SINGERS in April.
If you are, or know of, a student with a talent and passion for choral music, please contact our Outreach Manager, LoriAnn Abrahams.

The Mentorship Program was an eye opening experience that allowed me to witness what choral life could be like after high school/college. It was such a great opportunity to take part in creating and sharing choral music with others. – Chloe Z., 2015-16 Mentorship recipient
The Choral Mentorship Program is open to all enrolled high-school students (grades 9-12) in San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties. A maximum of eight students (two students per part: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) per year are admitted into the program at the sole discretion of The Choral Project Mentorship Program Committee. All applicants will be notified by email of their admission or non-admission into the program.
Students will rehearse on Monday nights with The Choral Project for approximately 5 weeks. Please download the application for more information.
The group’s rehearsals are held on Monday evenings at 7PM at Willow Glen United Methodist Church, 1420 Newport Avenue in San Jose. Rehearsals will be arranged so that the pieces on which the students are singing will be done first, so that they can leave by 8:30pm. The students will be given an information packet listing their obligations at or before the first rehearsal.
Acceptance & Awards
Each participant will receive a $150 scholarship and a certificate of completion. The concert marks the culmination of the program. The students will also be recognized in the program and during the concert performances.
