WINTER’S GIFTS | SPIRIT
The Choral Project and the San José Chamber Orchestra present their 15th annual concert collaboration “Winter’s Gifts,” revolving around the theme of “spirit.” The concert features works by a star-studded roster of composers, including Dominick Argento’s resplendent “Gloria” (from The Masque of Angels), Adrian Peacock’s rousing “Venite, Gaudete,” and John Paynter’s other-worldly composition “The Rose,” as well as gems by local favorite composers include Brent Heisinger’s “Walk Within Winter,” Michael Touchi’s arrangement of “Ocho Kandelikas,” Anica Galindo’s “Swept Away,” and a special work in memory of Jessye Norman. The concert also features the world premiere of “Tapestry of Life” by conductor Daniel Hughes on the subject of our interconnectedness. Guest artists include mezzo-soprano Malin Fritz and pianist Donna Stoering.
The concerts will take place at the beautiful Mission Santa Clara, as well as in a new location in Palo Alto at the First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto.
