image-auditionThe Choral Project, under the direction of Daniel Hughes, is currently accepting audition applications for the 2019-20 season. We are looking for experienced singers who are ready to come to rehearsal fully prepared (notes and rhythms learned), a willingness to sing in multiple languages, and who enjoy a highly interactive process, which includes taking personal direction from the Artistic Director. Singers are chosen on the basis of individual sound quality, potential blend with other candidates, musicianship, preparation skills, and one’s ability to take direction. Experience in ensemble singing is essential.

General Auditions will take place Saturday, August 31, 1-6 p.m.

Our 2019-20 season runs from September to July and we will perform three major concert programs: WINTER’S GIFTS (with the San José Chamber Orchestra), ART OF SOUND (a concert of stunningly beautiful traditional and contemporary works [several with orchestra], and CONSIDERING MATTHEW SHEPARD (a powerful, semi-staged oratorio performed jointly with the San José State University Choraliers [Dr. Jeffrey Benson, conductor]) as well as guest and community performances throughout the year. Additionally, we will do a one-week tour in July to do a guest concert in the greater Twin Cities area, and perform a set at the GALA international choral festival in Minneapolis, MN.

Rehearsals are held on Monday nights 7:00-10:00pm at Willow Glen United Methodist Church, 1420 Newport Avenue in downtown Willow Glen (located on the corner of Minnesota and Newport.
