Outreach Programs

In keeping with our vision of healing our world through music and words, and our mission of connecting to each other through choral theatre, education, and musical excellence, The Choral Project is pleased to launch two new outreach programs -- our Choral Mentorship Program and Choral Composition Contest.

Choral Mentorship Program
The Choral Project is thrilled to launch its new Choral Mentorship program. This program offers students who meet the entrance criteria and who exhibit the ability to rehearse and perform advanced choral literature a unique opportunity to perform with The Choral Project. If you are, or know of, a student with a talent and passion for choral music, please contact our Artistic Director Daniel Hughes.

Students4Free Program
In our ongoing quest to enhance the musical education of students in the greater Bay Area, The Choral Project is currently giving free passes to 50 middle school and high school students (10 to 18 years old) for each of our concerts. To get your free pass, please go to our Students4Free page and fill out the form.

Staying Connected

The Choral Project is committed to connecting with our community and continuously seeks opportunities to perform at schools, senior centers, and local events.

West Valley College Choirs - Committed to its mission of musical outreach, The Choral Project is delighted to join forces with the choirs from West Valley College, directed by award-winning conductor Lou De La Rosa, in a program that spans a range of styles and centuries. The "tapestry of song" shared by the participating choirs will culminate in nearly 100 singers performing jointly at the conclusion of an evening of stirring repertoire.

Nevada Union High School - The Choral Project was proud to host the Nevada Union High School Concert Choir, Women's Chorus, Men's Chorus and Chamber Choir, conducted by Rod Baggett, in an exchange concert featuring performances of this acclaimed school's four choirs, as well as The Choral Project. Some 100+ singers from Nevada Union High School participated on this program, as the school embarked on its spring music tour of the Bay Area.

Sunday Sounds - In its ongoing Sunday Sounds concert series, the Sunnyvale Public Library invited The Choral Project to perform for the public a selection of music including Britten's charming Five Flower Songs, and several popular folk songs and spirituals.

Remembering Voices: A Concert Commemorating Sept. 11th - This concert remembered those who perished and honored the American Spirit. The concert featured The Choral Project, San Jose State University Choraliers and San Jose Chamber Orchestra. The program included the "Requiem" and "Elegy" by Gabriel Fauré, the "Elegie" by Beethoven, plus songs of hope and inspiration. The concert was sponsored by the American Beethoven Society. A portion of the proceeds went to the Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter of the Bill Wilson Center.

Sunny View Retirement Community - In an effort to bring music to those who can not make it to a concert, The Choral Project performed for residents of the Sunny View Retirement Community in Cupertino.

Oak Tree Villa - Residents of the Oak Tree Villa Retirement Community were treated to a lively performance of popular folk songs and spirituals.
