Community Involvement
The Choral Project takes pride in giving back to the community and worthy causes that help make our world a much better place for the future. Below is a partial list of organizations we have supported through charitable contributions or volunteer hours.
VH1 Save The Music Foundation - is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in America's public schools by restoring music programs in cities across the country, and raising public awareness about the importance of music participation for our nation's youth.
Toys for Tots Foundation - helps needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
The Human Race (Volunteer Center of Silicon Valley) - is the annual premier community fundraising event providing all non-profit organizations the opportunity to raise money for their programs and services. Since 1999, members of The Choral Project have gathered pledges, strapped on their walking shoes and walked for a good cause. To date, we have raised over $20,000.
Guadalupe River Park - The Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens provide community leadership for the development and active use of the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens through education, advocacy and stewardship.
RAFT (Resource Area for Teachers) - RAFT serves more than 5,500+ members throughout Silicon Valley. Their diverse educational services reach into the classroom and beyond, enriching the education of thousands of children each year. Using RAFT materials, kids K-12 learn about math, science, art, and technology in fun and creative ways.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Clara County - The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to build responsible, independent children and youth by matching each with supportive and caring adult role models. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Clara County serves the community by creating professionally supported, one-to-one, adult mentor relationships for children ages 6-17.
The Rainforest Site - focuses the power of the Internet on a specific ecological need -- the preservation of the world's rainforests. In its first year of operation, The Rainforest Site generated funds to purchase and preserve over 5,650 acres of endangered land.
SARDUS (Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States) - established in 1992 to promote the training of search and rescue canines to insure that no victim is left behind.
